Welcome To My Blogsite!

And thanks for looking around! As far back as I can remember, children, both young and old, have always been a common theme in my life. I have earned degrees in child development, counseling and school psychology which have led to working with the most amazing youth and supporting them as they discover their course in life. It wasn't until I had my own children, however, that I realized how much fulfillment there is in capturing the moments, expressions and personalities that reflect who they are today. Whether a toddler or teenager or anywhere in between, now is the perfect time to document today's memories that will serve to bring joy to your lives throughout the years. I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones better and providing you with a custom photography experience. ~ Tracey

An annual trip to the ocean should be one of life’s requirements for those of us who are inlanders.  I’m not sure how those that live on the coast accomplish much; it would be so hard for me to stay off the beach all the time!  The local folks in Oregon claim this has been their dreariest summer in over 30 years.  The skies were definitely more gray than blue but did not detract in any way from the awesomeness of it all.  It was a perfect getaway.

I decided to process these images of our first day at the beach in black and white.  I LOVE black and white images and am so drawn to them when I view other photographer’s work.  There are so many different ways to process images and although I enjoy looking at more heavily processed images, I can’t seem to stray too far from keeping those that I create ‘clean’, maybe because they allow the viewer to feel as though they could be right there in the image themselves.  So… my quest to create the perfect black and white conversion continues.

such a fabulous trio!  If only summer would last forever!  Elsa and her friend Violet have enjoyed their play dates as of late.  They get to have fun doing what three year olds do best while Violet’s mom, Jennifer, and I enjoy chatting about all things photography and practicing refining our skills.  Oftentimes, our conversation seems to shift to ‘when will these children of ours start cooperating more with our efforts to photograph them?’  Not sure when that day will come, but in the meantime it’s fun to enjoy the captures that reflect who they are today, priceless three year olds!

I have known Sarah since she was three months old!  Even though she has grown up in a big way and we don’t see each other very frequently now, I found myself being transported back in time to when I spent several years helping care for her.  Those beautiful eyes, soft smile and super sweet demeanor still shine through today.  Sarah will be graduating this year and moving on to exciting new endeavors.  So much to look forward to!…

This little guy has got it goin’ on! — cuteness, a beautiful big sis, a golf swing you would not believe comes from a two year old, and he’s a ZAGS fan.  I was having so much fun watching him hit the ball that I almost forgot I was supposed to be using my camera.  To top it all off, he has a fabulous smile that totally lights up those big brown eyes.  It was such fun spending part of the morning with him.
